Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. (Spirit Defense) is seeking an experienced supply chain professional to manage supplier relationships, contracts, and post-award activities within a defense manufacturing environment.

You will lead RFQs, evaluate supplier responses, and ensure material availability while aligning with program needs and benchmarks. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance are required; a bachelor's in related field and SAP experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Knowledge or experience in manufacturing and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with MRP Systems; SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as an authorized agent with responsibility for supplier-related activities and authority to commit resources via contracts.
  • Research, evaluate, and set expectations for prospective suppliers for new business.
  • Build and maintain good relations with suppliers.
  • Handle and manage negotiating contracts with suppliers.
  • Develops RFQ/RFPs, analyzes supplier responses, negotiates/awards contracts, and manages post-award activities.
  • Interfaces with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Manages post-award supplier activities including updating profiles and required documentation.
  • Manages inventory levels, forecasting data, and supplier performance.
  • Monitors customer inventory demand and material assets to optimize total supply chain planning.
  • Incorporates planning decisions from customers and suppliers to reduce variability.
  • Communicates and tracks program changes as flowed down by Prime/Company.
  • Integrated Product Team representation and support.
  • Change Management.
  • Tracking affordability/trade studies.
  • Performing BOE/Estimating tasks.
  • Knowledge and support of P&L activities.
  • Ability to be decisive in complex problem solving.

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, at Spirit's Defense Business Unit("Spirit Defense"). Spirit Defense is an independent supplier to the defense and space marketplace. Through innovative engineering and rapid prototyping excellence, Spirit Defense provides the capabilities, technologies and support customers need to succeed in their missions.

Position Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • 3+ years' experience in a supply chain role, preferably within the aerospace or manufacturing industry
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Knowledge or experience in manufacturing and manufacturing processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with MRP Systems, with preference given to SAP experience

Summary Pay Range: $73,050- $112,000
