Job Description:

Position is for a Waterfront System Problem Improvement Report Data Entry (SPIR) Coordinator to assist in providing on‑site support and oversight for US Navy surface ship modernizations for Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia, Code 20.

Candidate should be able to provide waterfront support on a daily basis collecting and tracking discrepancies on the modernization work being performed. The support required will be for ships in multiple locations both CONUS and OCONUS.

Responsibilities

• Utilization of SPIR tracking spreadsheets and databases or similar post‑delivery availability and industry standard for tracking defects in an online database tool.
• Coordinate System Problem Improvement Report (SPIR) data entry. Take copies of handwritten SPIRs and enter this data into an approved NSWCPD SPIR tool.
• Update the SPIR tracking tool as needed based on the input from NSWCPD in service engineering agents (ISEAs), alteration installation teams (AITs), and the installing ship yard.
• Interface with NSWCPD ISEAs to monitor the resolution of SPIRs.
• Provide a weekly SPIR status report in the format provided by the government.

Required Skills and Experience

7 years experience in engineering/science management, operations research analysis or financial/cost analysis. Significant experience in the U.S. Navy programs or operations.
