Job summary

Gildan is seeking a Spinning Technician in the United States (Mocksville, NC) to perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and repair spinning equipment. You will work with machine operators, follow Lockout/Tagout procedures, and use systems to locate parts and manage inventory.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and quality, with physical requirements including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods in a cotton-dust environment, on an 8-hour shift.

Qualifications

• Mechanical/technical experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills expected.
• Ability to work an 8-hour shift while standing and walking.
• Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Work in a cotton dust environment with warm temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance and equipment repairs.
• Troubleshoot machinery issues and report problems to management.
• Maintain spinning equipment including spindles, bearings, belts, and filter systems.
• Communicate effectively with machine operators and team members.
• Follow safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout and PPE.
• Use computer systems to locate parts and maintain inventory needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

The opportunity

The primary function of the Spinning Technician is to perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on spinning equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance and equipment repairs.
• Troubleshoot machinery issues and report problems to management.
• Maintain spinning equipment, including spindles, bearings, belts, and filter systems.
• Communicate effectively with machine operators and team members.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and required PPE.
• Use computer systems to locate parts and maintain inventory needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

• Mechanical/technical experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work a 8-hour shift while standing and walking for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a cotton dust environment with temperatures of approximately 85–87°F.
• Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality.
