Job summary

Cedars-Sinai's Spinal Outcomes Research Lab in the Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a full-time Research Associate II to support a comprehensive spine outcomes program. The role involves building and maintaining a large prospective database, coordinating patient interactions, and performing data collection and quality checks.

Candidates should have a science degree, at least one year of lab experience, and familiarity with IRB processes and REDCap; strong Excel skills and digital literacy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a science-related field.
• At least 1 year of research laboratory experience.
• Understanding of general research objectives and routine laboratory procedures.
• Digital literacy.

Responsibilities

• Designs and executes routine and complex lab tasks supporting research projects.
• Maintains accurate records of experiments and results; troubleshoots unexpected results.
• Assists in data collection, preparation for publication, and presentation.
• Supports lab operations including equipment, orders, and safety procedures.
• In department-specific duties, identifies eligible spine patients for enrollment and obtains informed consent per IRB requirements.
• Coordinates data collection from EHR, gait data and PROs; administers PROMs at visits.
• Maintains and audits the spinal outcomes database and ensures data completeness across studies.
