Job summary

Cedars-Sinai’s Metzger Lab in the Department of Orthopaedics is seeking a Research Associate II to contribute to diverse laboratory research activities. The role emphasizes hands-on protocol execution, data collection, and publication preparation within a reputable medical center.

The candidate will work under supervision to perform experiments, maintain records, and support lab operations, with opportunities to develop technical expertise in orthopaedic biomechanics and related areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• At least 1 year of research laboratory experience; 2 years is highly desired.
• Experience in orthopaedic systems, biomechanics, or biomedical engineering is highly preferred.
• Familiar with routine lab procedures and lab organization.
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; ability to work across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of increasingly complex experimental protocols and assist in design of new protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments and results; troubleshoot unexpected results.
• Order laboratory supplies and support operations.
• Maintain equipment and coordinate use where needed.
• Assist in operation of specialized equipment as required by the research area.
• Assist in data preparation for publication or presentation.
