Job summary

AMETEK Precitech Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Spindle Assembler for the second shift to assemble, test, and calibrate ultra-precision air-bearing spindles used in advanced manufacturing systems.

You will read engineering drawings, operate high-precision machines, perform mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies, and conduct functional tests to ensure performance. Cleanroom protocols and quality documentation are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of precision assembly or manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical docs.
• Proficiency with hand tools, torque drivers, and measurement instruments.

Responsibilities

• Assemble spindle components using drawings and schematics.

• Perform sub-assembly, bearing installation, rotor balancing, and wiring.

Role Summary

AMETEK Precitech Inc., a global leader in ultra-precision machining solutions, is seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined Spindle Assembler to join our high-performance team on second shift. This role is responsible for assembling, testing, and calibrating ultra-precision air-bearing spindles used in advanced manufacturing systems.

What you’ll be doing

• Assemble high-precision spindle components using detailed engineering drawings, work instructions, and schematics.
• Operate ultra-precision diamond turning machines and surface grinders to match fit spindle components.
• Perform mechanical and electrical sub-assembly, including bearing installation, rotor balancing, and wiring.
• Conduct functional testing and calibration of spindles to meet stringent performance specifications.
• Use precision measurement tools (micrometers, dial indicators, etc.) to verify tolerances and alignment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assembly steps, test results, and quality checks.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues and support continuous improvement.
• Follow cleanroom protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

This is what you’ll need to be successful in this role

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical or electrical technology preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in precision assembly or manufacturing, preferably in aerospace, medical devices, or ultra-precision equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools, torque drivers, and measurement instruments.
