Job summary

Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services, Inc. in Crane, IN seeks a Mass Properties Technician responsible for precision mass properties measurements using the spin balance machine to determine mass, CG, MOI, and POI for test articles.

You will prepare hardware, calibrate equipment, collect data, ensure procedures and safety, and work with engineers to resolve measurement issues in a fast-paced, mission-driven lab. Travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with precision mechanical or measurement equipment and metrology.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and test plans.
• Strong attention to detail and data documentation in controlled environments.
• Eligible for DoD SECRET clearance.
• Experience in spin balancing or mass properties is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor spin balance equipment for mass properties measurements.
• Prepare test articles and fixtures per engineering requirements and test plans.
• Verify calibration and proper configuration prior to testing.
• Collect, review, and document measurement data in accordance with procedures.
• Follow safety protocols and contribute to configuration control.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot measurement issues.
• Maintain equipment and prepare for reuse in a calibrated state.
