Job summary

Google is seeking a Spend Manager (Spend Governance) to standardize controls across the spend lifecycle and drive financial compliance, operational excellence, and reporting integrity. You will manage spend taxonomy lifecycle, policy exceptions, and data hygiene routines while partnering with Finance, gSO, Operations, and Analytics teams to empower budget owners.

In the gTech Users and Products (gUP) organization, this role helps Google's users by ensuring trusted experiences across the product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in a customer or client-facing role supporting spend management, procurement operations, financial governance, or business operations.
• 7 years of experience analyzing data and generating business insights.
• 7 years of experience developing operational process solutions and working with cross-functional teams to implement these changes.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end spend governance frameworks and SOPs.
• Define cross-functional RACI matrices, compliance thresholds, and operational review cadences.
• Conduct recurring governance audits and compliance reviews to track adherence to financial policies.
• Curate, structure, and maintain centralized spend playbooks, process maps, and guidance materials.
• Develop and scale a comprehensive curriculum covering the spend lifecycle and spend tooling.
