Job Summary:

This position is accountable for providing speech language pathology services to patients, including assessment, treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation, communication with other disciplines and services, and staff supervision as agreed. Staff may care for all age groups from infants to elderly and should be aware of developmental needs across the lifespan and appropriate equipment for all ages. The role requires a commitment to quality service for patients, the public, and co-workers. Therapists are accountable for their actions and strive to exceed customer expectations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate patients for goal setting and treatment planning, including implementation of the Plan of Care (POC).
  2. Record and document patient evaluations, treatments, and progress accurately reflecting services provided and patient performance.
  3. Supervise therapy personnel and students as assigned.
  4. Stay current with new programs and treatments, and participate in special projects within the speech-language pathology field.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in speech and language pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC, SLP) or Clinical Fellow (CF, SLP), or eligibility required.
  • Licensed by the Virginia Board of Speech Pathology.
  • CPR certification required.
