Job description

ST SUMMARY

Evaluates and treats residents and patients with temporary or long-term speech, hearing, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

ST ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Under a physician’s direction, provides direct patient/resident treatment based on established plan of care.
  2. Screens and evaluates residents and develops appropriate care plan.
  3. Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication, swallowing, or cognitive problems.
  4. Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
  5. Instructs residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provides ways to practice new skills.
  6. Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
  7. Maintains patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
  8. Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.

ST ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  2. Current license in Speech Therapy as required by state law.
  3. Certification in clinical competency.
  4. One-year clinical experience preferred.

ST SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May supervise Rehab Aides and others involved in the program.
