Responsibilities

The Home Health Speech Therapist (ST, SLP) assesses and evaluates patient needs related to speech and language disorders, including communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments, and provides functional training.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws, in accordance with the plan of care, and in coordination with the healthcare team
• Evaluating patient function levels using diagnostic and prognostic tests and assisting in developing the therapy plan of care
• Treating patients to improve communication effectiveness based on their condition and standards of practice
• Instructing patients, families, caregivers, and team members in speech therapy areas they can participate in

Education and Experience

License Requirements

• Current license to practice Speech Therapy in Texas
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation
