Job summary

River Bend Health and Rehabilitation in Asheville, NC is seeking a dedicated Speech Therapist PRN to evaluate, diagnose, and treat residents with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to deliver care and educate families on strategies to support communication and safe swallowing.

This position is PRN and located within a skilled nursing setting. Qualified candidates hold a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, current state SLP

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
  • Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • CCC-SLP certification is preferred.
  • CPR certification required or to be obtained upon hire.
  • Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of residents' speech, language, cognitive- linguistic, and swallowing abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to residents' needs.
  • Provide therapy services including speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication, and swallowing interventions.
  • Monitor and document residents' progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and physicians for coordinated care.
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies to support communication and safe swallowing.

Job Summary:

River Bend Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated Speech Therapist PRN to join our team of healthcare professionals in Asheville, NC. As a Speech Therapist, you will play a vital role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating residents with speech, language, voice, communication, and swallowing disorders. About the Role:

As a Speech Therapist PRN, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing therapy services to residents. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide coordinated care, educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies to support communication and swallowing, and ensure compliance with facility policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to residents' needs and goals.
  • Provide therapy services including speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication, and swallowing interventions.
  • Monitor and document residents' progress, making necessary adjustments to therapy plans.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and physicians to provide coordinated care.
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies to support communication, safe swallowing, and carryover of therapy techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies, professional standards, and state/federal regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program (Master's degree required).
  • Current and valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • CPR certification required (or must obtain upon hire).
  • Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
