River Bend Health and Rehabilitation in Asheville, NC is seeking a dedicated Speech Therapist PRN to evaluate, diagnose, and treat residents with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders. The role emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and patient-centered care.

You will conduct comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized plans, provide therapy across modalities, monitor progress, and educate residents and families in strategies to support communication and safe swallowing.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Current and valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• CCC-SLP certification preferred.
• CPR certification required (or obtained upon hire).
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for residents.
• Provide therapy across speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication, and swallowing domains.
• Monitor progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
• Collaborate with nursing, PT, OT, and physicians to coordinate care.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies to support communication and safe swallowing.
