Join us!*The speech language pathologist is responsible for implantation of standards of care for speech language pathology services and for adherence to all conditions in the service agreement.**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Conducts appropriate evaluation, assesses home environment as appropriate, identifies equipment needs relative to speech/language function.* Identifies functional speech defects and establishes a plan of care to improve patient’s function.* Administers speech therapy program utilizing specialized therapeutic technique and/ or equipment.* Recommends communication devices and aids as indicated.* Confers with referring physician and other organization personnel to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care contributes to the total plan of care.* Participates in case conferences, Inservice and other meetings required to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.* Prepares and submits notes per organization policy.* Maintains clinical competency in speech language pathology practice and theory.**EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:*** Required Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology* Preferred Degree: Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology* Certificate(s): CPR Certification, if required by State and Certification of clinical competence in speech language pathology granted by the American speech language hearing association (ASHA).* Experience: 1+ Years**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:*** Ability to listen to, monitor and observe patient speech patterns to develop treatment plans.* Strong time management, attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills.* Ability to interact with patients, their families and healthcare professionals**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:*** Ability to stand, sit, talk, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.* Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 100 lbs.* Ability to operate various equipment base on department.* The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medical codes or alarms. Four hearing requirements listed: In person speech, Telephone, Other remote speech and other sounds.Clarity of Vision:* For near visual acuity Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.* For far visual acuity, Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. This is not just the ability to see a person or object, but the ability to recognize features as well.* For peripheral vision, observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.**Compensation Pay Range:**$38.74 - $49.26 per hour**Reasonable Pay Estimate**A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $38.74 - $49.26 per hour.
