Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Speech Language Pathologist after attaining your certificate of clinical competence.
• State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist is required at hire (California).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI) required at hire.
• Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology certification (ASHA CCC) required at hire.
• ASHA certified mentor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assumes the responsibility as outlined in the Speech Therapists I job summary and responsibilities.
• Provides department in-service as requested by management (e.g., journal club presentation, and or regular in-service presentation).
• Serves as a clinical instructor as requested by management.
• Assists in orientation and training of employees as needed.
• Provides consultation to staff.
• May act as a mentor for staff.
• May provide input into the clinical competency of staff.
• Identifies process Improvement opportunities.
• May assist in the development and implementation of new clinical practice models for the delivery of care.
• Participates in performance improvement projects or other committees as requested by management.
• May be involved in the clinical competency of SLP Assistants and Rehab Aides.
• May monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities.
• Performs other duties as required within scope of practice.

Education

Graduate of an accredited speech language pathology curriculum with a Bachelor or Master or Doctoral degree and certification in Speech-Language Pathology or foreign trained equivalent
