Job Details

The Staff Level I Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for the evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning of all patients referred for their services.

The Speech Therapist is an integral healthcare provider accountable for assisting patients to reach their highest level of function. The Staff Level I Therapist will uphold the mission, vision, and values of Jefferson Health.

Works in conjunction with other healthcare professionals to coordinate treatment plans and care.

Essential Functions
  1. Provide therapy evaluations, treatment planning, interventions, and discharge planning for a full caseload in acute care, skilled facilities, acute rehab, outpatient settings as appropriate.
  2. Participate in student education, including part-time roles such as ICE, OT level 1, or full-time students.
  3. Engage in education and teaching appropriate to a novice clinician.
  4. Plan, organize, and deliver treatment programs that facilitate recovery and rehabilitation.
  5. Utilize appropriate tools and techniques to administer safe therapeutic interventions and training for patients and families.
  6. Record and document clients'/patients' health progress, therapeutic interventions, daily treatments, evaluations, and discharge summaries.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Description

Education: Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required, along with 2 years of clinical practice. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology required. State License required. CPR certification required (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider, BLS).
