Key Job Responsibilities

The Speech Therapist provides skilled pathology services on an intermittent basis to patients in their homes in accordance with physicians' orders.

Qualifications

• Help optimize the capital structure and support strategic initiatives.
• Must be able to hear adequately on the telephone with no more than an amplifier and communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English.
• Maintain the agency's mission, philosophy, and core values.
• Adhere to dress code; appearance is neat and clean; wear identification while on duty.
• Report to work on time and/or as scheduled.
• Ensure compliance with agency policies regarding patient care, complaints, incidents, safety, and emergency management.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, control, standard precautions, and infection reporting policies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality, including all HIPAA regulations.

Regulatory Requirements

• Licensed or registered in the state of practice.
• Pass a criminal background check & MVR check.
• Complete health statements acknowledging ability to perform duties.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Proof of current automobile insurance.
• Current CPR card; online CPR certification accepted; hands-on CPR preferred.
• TB testing as per agency policy.

Industry Experience

• Experience in a Home Health Care or Hospice setting preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of general therapy theory and practice; able to work independently.

Education

• A Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology; Bachelor's in Speech and Hearing Therapy preferred.
• Member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association preferred.
