Key Job Responsibilities
The Speech Therapist provides skilled pathology services on an intermittent basis to patients in their homes in accordance with physicians' orders.
Qualifications
- Help optimize the capital structure and support strategic initiatives.
- Must be able to hear adequately on the telephone with no more than an amplifier and communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English.
- Maintain the agency's mission, philosophy, and core values.
- Adhere to dress code; appearance is neat and clean; wear identification while on duty.
- Report to work on time and/or as scheduled.
- Ensure compliance with agency policies regarding patient care, complaints, incidents, safety, and emergency management.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, control, standard precautions, and infection reporting policies.
- Maintain patient confidentiality, including all HIPAA regulations.
Regulatory Requirements
- Licensed or registered in the state of practice.
- Pass a criminal background check & MVR check.
- Complete health statements acknowledging ability to perform duties.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Proof of current automobile insurance.
- Current CPR card; online CPR certification accepted; hands-on CPR preferred.
- TB testing as per agency policy.
Industry Experience
- Experience in a Home Health Care or Hospice setting preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of general therapy theory and practice; able to work independently.
Education
- A Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology; Bachelor's in Speech and Hearing Therapy preferred.
- Member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association preferred.
