Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a Speech Therapist for a casual/PRN role in Westerville, OH. The position supports weekend coverage with duties including patient evaluations, documentation, billing, and interdisciplinary communication to ensure quality care.

Required is a state license to practice Speech Therapy in Ohio and BLS for Healthcare Providers; a master's or doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology is preferred, with at least one year of clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Program; Master or Doctorate preferred.
• Current license to practice Speech Therapy in Ohio; BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
• One year of clinical experience in the area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient evaluations, screenings, and follow-up sessions in management of communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing disorders.
• Maintains documentation in the patient's medical record.

Description:

Position Purpose:

The Speech Therapist provides evaluation and treatment of patients referred for Speech Language Pathology services. The Speech Therapist communicates and collaborates with other caregivers to provide quality care and maintain accurate patient records. This position is casual/PRN to help with weekend coverage.

What You Will Do:

• Provides patient evaluations, screenings, and follow-up sessions or phone calls in the management of communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing disorders.

• Maintains documentation on all sessions, meetings, and contacts in the patient's medical record.

• Maintains proper billing for the services provided.

• Communicates with appropriate health care providers on matters concerning patient treatment, continuity of care, and discharge planning.

• Advises other colleagues on technical/clinical matters related to speech language pathology.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Program; Master or Doctorate degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.

• Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice Speech Therapy in the state of Ohio; Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider required.

• Experience: One year of clinical experience in respective area preferred.
