Responsibilities

The Speech Therapist in Home Health assesses and evaluates patients' speech and language disorders, including communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments, and provides functional training.

• Provides services within the scope of practice defined by state laws, according to the plan of care, and in coordination with the healthcare team.
• Evaluates patients' functional levels using diagnostic and prognostic tests and assists physicians in developing therapy plans.
• Treats patients to improve communication, expressing thoughts effectively based on their condition, following standards of practice.
• Instructs patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members in speech therapy areas where they can participate.

Education and Experience

License Requirements:

• Must be currently licensed in Speech Therapy in the state of practice
• Current CPR certification
• Must have a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or reliable transportation
