Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in New Mexico seeks a Speech Language Therapist to evaluate patients and apply a wide range of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of speech, language, hearing, and dysphagia disorders.

Responsibilities include overseeing comprehensive rehab programs, coordinating with care teams, and promoting patient self‑determination. Roles span inpatient, outpatient, long‑term and home health care settings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
• 1–3 years experience or Clinical Fellowship eligible; SLP.
• BLS required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats patients regarding a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of speech, language, communication, cognition, hearing and dysphasia disorders.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles over the life span of patients served.
• Oversees and ensures a comprehensive rehabilitation program addressing physical, psychosocial, cognitive and environmental well‑being.
• Promotes patient/caregiver self‑determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve independence.
• Coordinates and communicates with disciplines or services involved in patient care.
• Coordinates discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care.
• Acts as a patient advocate.
• Settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long term care, community based care and home health care.
• Requires knowledge of speech and language pathology and interpretation of data.
• Understands rules and regulations of the setting.

Education

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Responsibilities:

• Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting
