Job summary

South Shore Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Rockland is seeking per diem Speech Therapists. Up to $58 an hour with weekly pay. You will assess residents, plan care, and provide direct treatment under physician orders in individual, supervised, and group settings.

Responsibilities include teaching caregivers, participating in the clinical team, and documenting care. New grads welcome; state licensure required; experience in long-term care preferred.

South Shore Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Rockland is looking for per diem Speech Therapists!

Up to $58 an hour with weekly pay. South Shore is a 96-bed skilled nursing facility.

You provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload; participate in the clinical team process; provide teaching and training to caregiver staff; and supervise other assistants, aides, and students as required.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Speech Therapy.
• Current licensure by the applicable state agency.
• Two (2) years of clinical experience in long-term care preferred.
• CEU’s per state licensure requirements.
• Newly licensed therapists welcome!

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Screens patients/residents.
• Evaluates patients/residents and develops appropriate care plans.
• May perform additional assigned administrative duties such as: assigning and overseeing resident care activities, medical record oversight, assuring execution of physician orders, ordering supplies, etc.
• Under a physician’s order, provides direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care. Treatment venue includes individual, supervised and group.
• Contributes to the team meeting and decision-making process as defined by the program.
• Consults with and trains patients/residents and caregivers.
• Monitors efficiencies on an ongoing basis in collaboration with supervisor.
• Documents activities according to the company’s clinical documentation system on a timely basis.
• Demonstrates consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.
• Communicates effectively with patients, residents, team members, customers and supervisor.
• Participates in clinical program development and implementation.
• Participates in the training and orientation of other staff.
• Demonstrates ability for continuous new learning to remain current in the field.
• Complies with facility Privacy Practices policies and procedures and protects residents’ individual health information.
• May perform additional duties as requested by supervisor.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• Responsible for service and operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet or exceed the expectations of those utilizing or impacted by the department.
