Job summary

Liberty Center is now hiring a full-time Speech Therapist to provide rehabilitation services to our patients. The Speech Therapist is responsible for organizing and conducting occupational therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation.

Responsibilities include evaluating speech and language difficulties, developing and implementing treatment plans, teaching articulation and voice improvement, and supporting swallowing therapy for patients in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Maryland.
• Graduate of an accredited Speech Therapy Program with clinical training.
• Experience in healthcare settings and exceptional patient service required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients to evaluate speech or language difficulties.
• Determine the extent of communication problems using assessments and tests.
• Identify, create, and carry out an individualized therapy plan.
• Teach patients how to produce sounds and improve voice quality.
• Support swallowing therapy and muscle strengthening relevant to speech and swallowing functions.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Speech Therapy Program.

Current MD State Speech Therapy License.

• Determine the extent of communication problems by having a patient complete basic reading and vocalizing tasks or by giving standardized tests
• Identify, create, and carry out an individualized treatment plan
• Teach patients how to make sounds and improve their voices
• Work with patients to develop and strengthen the muscles used to swallow

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Speech Therapy Program.
• Current MD State Speech Therapy License.
• Experience in Assisted Living settings preferred.
• Proven exceptional customer service and patient care experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Minimum of one-year experience in an acute care facility, outpatient setting, community health service or Home Health agency in the past two years as a Speech Therapist preferred.
