Job description

Valley County Health System (VCHS) has a PRN (as-needed) opportunity available for a Speech Therapist to join our team! Primary responsibilities include serving VCHS patients in the outpatient and home health departments.

Job Summary

The responsibilities of the Speech Therapist include assessing and treating swallowing and communication difficulties arising from a variety of causes, e.g. stroke or injury; devising, implementing and revising relevant treatment programs; advising on implementing treatment programs and training other professionals in therapy delivery; assessing communication environments; monitoring and evaluating client’s progress; working with clients on a one-to-one basis, and in groups, to deliver therapy; and working with others to improve the overall effectiveness of service delivery.

Requirements
  • Current Speech Therapist licensure in the State of Nebraska
  • Provide safe and appropriate care within the standards of practice
  • Independent problem-solving skills and self-directed work experience
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate attention to detail
  • Maintain CPR certification
