Job summary

Tallgrass Healthcare Campus in Junction City, KS is hiring a Speech Therapist (SLP) to join our skilled nursing and rehabilitation team. You will evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders to improve communication and safe swallowing.

We offer a competitive compensation package, an $8,000 sign-on bonus for full-time positions, medical/dental/vision coverage, PTO, and flexible scheduling with full-time, part-time, or PRN options.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university.
• Current state SLP licensure.
• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional communication and safe swallowing.
• Provide therapy to improve speech intelligibility, cognitive functioning, and swallowing safety.
• Utilize alternative or augmentative communication methods as appropriate.
• Modify diet textures and implement oral motor exercises to improve swallowing outcomes.
• Collaborate with nursing, rehab, and physician teams to ensure coordinated care.

What You’ll Do as Our Speech Therapist

• Evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional communication and safe swallowing
• Provide therapy to improve speech intelligibility, cognitive functioning, and swallowing safety
• Utilize alternative or augmentative communication methods as appropriate
• Modify diet textures and implement oral motor exercises to improve swallowing outcomes
• Set shortterm and longterm goals aligned with physician orders and resident needs
• Educate residents and families to support carryover and functional independence
• Advocate for residents’ rehabilitation needs and participate in quality assurance initiatives
• Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress accurately per regulatory standards
• Collaborate with nursing, rehab, and physician teams to ensure coordinated care

What We’re Looking for in YOU

• Master’s degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology from an accredited university
• Current state SLP licensure
• Experience in longterm care or skilled nursing preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal healthcare regulations
