Qualifications

• Masters in Speech Pathology required.
• Idaho SLP licensure required or temporary permit.
• ASHA certification required or will be obtained after CFY.
• Minimum 1 year experience with adult/pediatric neurologically impaired population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs a comprehensive speech and language assessment within 24 hours of admission and documents findings.
• Develops a plan of care to promote optimum function and safety as documented in the clinical record.
• Provides skilled speech therapy treatment in the home, reassessing the client’s status during each visit and ensuring quality of care.
• Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members to ensure optimal patient care and communication.
• Follows hospital exposure control plans and HIPAA regulations; maintains confidentiality of all patient information.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
• Communicates with patients, families, and co-workers in person, in writing, and by telephone.

Essential Job Functions

• Performs a comprehensive speech and language physical, psychosocial, and safety assessment as evidenced by documentation in the clinical record within 24 hours of admission.
• Develops a plan of care to promote optimum function and safety as documented in the clinical record Incorporates patient goals into the plan of care
• Provides skilled speech therapy treatment in the home, reassessing the clients status during each visit and ensuring quality of care as documented in the clinical record
• Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal patient care and communication as noted in the clinical record
• Follows hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens
• Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Communicate with patients, families and co-workers in person, in writing and on telephone

Minimum Qualifications

• Masters degree in Speech Pathology required
• Current State of Idaho Speech Language Pathologist Licensure required OR temporary SLP Provisional Permit
• Certification with the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) required OR will obtain upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year
• Minimum of 1-year experience with adult and or pediatric neurologically impaired patient population preferred.
