Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Speech Language Therapist in the Clovis, NM area to evaluate patients and apply a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of speech, language, hearing, and dysphagia disorders.

You will work across inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, community-based care, and home health settings, guiding a comprehensive rehabilitation program and coordinating with multiple disciplines to achieve discharge goals and patient independence.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence is required.
  • 1–3 years of experience or Clinical Fellowship eligible.
  • Speech Language Pathologist certification/licensure.
  • BLS certification at time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and treats patients with a range of speech, language, cognition, and dysphagia needs.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development across the life span.
  • Oversees a comprehensive rehabilitation program addressing physical, psychosocial, and cognitive well-being.
  • Promotes patient and caregiver independence by linking to external resources.
  • Coordinates with disciplines involved in patient care and discharge planning.
  • Advocates for patients and supports various care settings (inpatient, outpatient, long-term, home health).
  • Interprets data and applies knowledge of speech-language pathology within regulatory settings.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of speech, language, communication, cognition, hearing and dysphasia disorders.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served
  • Oversees and insures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, cognitive and immediate environmental well‑being of the patient.
  • Promotes patient/caregiver self‑determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence.
  • Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in patient care.
  • Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care.
  • Is a patient advocate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long term care, community based care and home health care
  • Requires detailed knowledge of speech and language pathology in terms of what and how work is to be done as well as why it is done, this level includes interpretation of data
  • Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting
