Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a full-time Speech Language Therapist in Albuquerque, NM to join our Downtown Rehabilitation team. In this role, you will evaluate patients with speech, language, and hearing disorders and develop appropriate rehabilitation programs.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology and relevant licensure. This position offers competitive compensation and various benefits including educational opportunities and wellness programs.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
  • Required certification and licensure in New Mexico.
  • BLS certification is necessary at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients for rehabilitation of speech, language, and hearing disorders.
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive rehabilitation program.
  • Coordinate with various disciplines involved in patient care.
  • Promote self-determination and independence for patients.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of speech, language, hearing, and dysphagia disorders.
  • Oversee and inscribe a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, cognitive and immediate environmental well‑being of the patient.
  • Promote patient/caregiver self‑determination by optimizing external resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence.
  • Coordinate and communicate with various disciplines or services involved in patient care.
  • Coordinate efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care.
  • Act as a patient advocate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development across the lifespan of patients served.
  • Interpret data and apply best practices in speech and language pathology.
  • Understand and apply rules and regulations of the specific setting.
Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence.
  • New Mexico Licensure in SLP.
  • Speech Language Pathologist.
  • BLS Required at time of Hire.
  • New graduates encouraged to apply.
