Job summary

The Nassau BOCES Department of Special Education is seeking a Speech Teacher Leave Replacement.

Responsibilities Include
  • Conducting speech and language re-evaluations for special education students
  • Delivering individual and group speech services, as per student IEP mandates
  • Maintaining accurate records, speech session notes, and Medicaid related documents
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and component school districts
Requirements
  • NYSED Certification Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of Speech and Language Disabilities
  • NYS Speech-Language Pathology License and Certificate of Clinical Competence American Speech-Language-Hearing Association are preferred
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with Autism and/or emotional and behavioral disorders is also preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
