Job summary

Southeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Speech Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, hearing, and oral motor disorders in an acute care setting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Physical Therapy, GA licensure in Speech Pathology, and BLS. Prior acute care experience is preferred, with competitive benefits and opportunities for professional growth within a values-driven team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy is required or preferred.
• Georgia licensure in Speech Pathology is required with BLS
• Acute care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Practice Speech Therapy in line with ASHA ethics and standards.
• Respect patient rights to treatment and involvement in decisions.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living under licensed staff supervision.
• Perform evaluations focusing on language, speech, articulation, and auditory skills.
• Develop measurable rehabilitation goals and document progress for discharge planning.
• Communicate with primary care team and educate patients and caregivers.
• Contribute to patient satisfaction improvements and efficient time management.
• Comply with Joint Commission standards across the department.
