Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Hospital is seeking a Speech Pathologist to provide comprehensive evaluation and rehabilitation for patients with speech, language, swallowing and cognitive impairments. The role includes documenting evaluation results, daily progress notes, weekly summaries and discharge notes in the EMR, and communicating with patients, families and physicians.

• Successful completion of clinical training at a Masters level program in speech therapy.
• ASHA certification required/preferred; state licensure.
• Ability to communicate well with patients, families, peers, and medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive impairments.
• Document progress notes, weekly summaries, and discharge notes in EMR.
• Prescribe and implement rehabilitation plan of care.
• Educate patients and families; collaborate with physicians and staff.
