Speech‑language pathologists evaluate patients referred for appraisal of speech, language, voice, fluency, and dysphagia, carry out therapy as appropriate, communicate results to patients, parents and other professionals, and participate in various hospital or community related activities. They evaluate, plan and implement treatment programs for referred patients according to accepted principles and practices of Speech Therapy. They support all programs in the rehabilitation continuum and maintain working relationships with hospital leadership, physicians, nurses, case managers, social workers, allied health professionals, ancillary services, and hospital support personnel. They report to the Therapy Manager or Senior Therapist and supervise assistants, aides, and students.
