Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn is seeking a Speech Pathologist to join our team. Under direct supervision, you will assist in administering diagnostic and rehabilitative services to patients with speech and language impairments.

Responsibilities include care planning, discharge planning, documentation, assessment and evaluation, patient progress, and interprofessional collaboration. Minimum qualifications include a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, NYS SLP license and ASHA certification; BLS

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college with supervised clinical experience (≥300 hours).
• NY State Speech Language Pathology License and ASHA Certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required at time of hire and maintained; CPR certification.
• Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• CARE PLANNING: Develops and implements a care plan with measurable goals and time frames.
• DISCHARGE PLANNING: Develops discharge plan with patient, care partners and care team.
• DOCUMENTATION: Completes all required medical documentation per department guidelines and JACHO/CARF requirements.
• ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION: Assists in examination and evaluation of speech and language disorders.
• PATIENT PROGRESS: Attends evaluations and rounds to determine progress and prognosis.
• INTERVENTIONS: Plans/executes remedial programs to restore or improve speech and language abilities.
