Job Description

Responsible for providing a full range of speech pathology services including assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards. The incumbent shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribute to program development, quality improvement, problem-solving, and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion.

Principal Accountabilities:
  1. Diagnoses and evaluates speech and language skills related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors.
  2. Plans, directs, or conducts habilitative and rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems of organic and nonorganic etiology.
  3. Provides counseling, guidance, and language development therapy to disabled individuals.
  4. Reviews individual files to obtain background information prior to evaluation, determine appropriate tests, and ensure adequate information is available.
  5. Administers, scores, and interprets specialized speech tests.
  6. Develops and implements individualized plans for assigned clients to meet their needs, interests, and abilities.
  7. Evaluates and monitors individuals using audiovisual equipment; reviews treatment plans and assesses individual performance to modify or create new programs.
  8. Maintains records as required by law, policy, and regulations.
  9. Attends meetings and conferences and participates in activities to promote professional growth.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required: Graduation from an accredited college or university in Speech Pathology or a related field.

Required: Licensed Speech Pathologist in NJ or temporary NJ License for Clinical Fellowship Year.

Preferred: 2+ years of experience; highly qualified CF candidates will be considered.
