Erie County Medical Center Corporation in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of language, cognitive, voice, speech and swallowing disorders. The role reports to a Senior Speech Pathologist within Rehabilitation Medicine, functioning under physician direction and providing comprehensive care.

HOURLY RANGE: $42.14 - $50.55
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves providing comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of language, cognitive, voice, speech and swallowing disorders. This is a professional position involving responsibility for the evaluation of communication/swallowing effectiveness. The incumbent performs the work upon a written order or referral of a physician who provides medical direction. Work is performed under the direct supervision of a Senior Speech Pathologist or higher-level administrator in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine or other Department of the Erie County Medical Center Corporation. Supervision is not a function of this position. Does related work as required.
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of speech language pathology; good knowledge of pathological conditions and social economic and cultural factors affecting speech disabilities; good knowledge of community resources available to support or supplement the speech language pathology program; ability to perform evaluations and plan and develop remedial programs based on the evaluations; ability to prepare accurate reports; ability to secure the cooperation of patients and family members; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to use tools and equipment for speech language pathology; skilled in the use of electronic medical records; tact; dependability; sound professional judgment; physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or the equivalent which would result in eligibility for the required licensure.
NOTE: Verifiable part time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full time experience requirements.
