The position requires a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, NJ licensure or eligibility, and ASHA CCC or eligibility, with at least three years of experience and strong feeding skills. Full-time, day shift, salary range $98,500–$114,700 per year, in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and eligible for NJ licensure.
CCC-SLP or eligible; ASHA member; BLS certification.
Three years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist with feeding experience.
NCLEX? (note: license) – continuing education required for licensing.
NJ State License eligibility and ASHA certification details.

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care for communication and swallowing disorders.
Coordinates services with other health professionals.
May assist in training and supervision of students.
Delivers effective therapy and documents evaluations in writing.
Meets productivity demands and shares techniques with staff and CFYs.

Evidence of continuing education is necessary to meet licensing requirements

Preferred:

Student clinical experience in pediatrics; rehabilitation experience

Scheduling Requirements

Full-Time (40 hours/week)

Essential Functions

Delivers effective therapeutic services that are relevant to population served and remains knowledgeable of current techniques
Communicates Speech-Language evaluations on population served that accurately and efficiently identifies strengths and needs in the area being evaluated. Effectively communicates this information in verbal and written forms
Completes Basic Competencies of the population currently serving as indicated on the Competency criteria for Speech & Hearing Dept., and hospital competencies
Meets productivity demands by seeking out opportunities within the entire dept when cancellations, no shows and low census occur
Effectively shares information regarding therapy/evaluation techniques and/or hospital procedures with students, volunteers, CFY's and peers
Participates in projects for the department that are consistent with department and hospital goals and missions
Communicates job specific concerns and participates in developing solutions
Provides in service training to staff and community as requested and completes training commensurate with state license laws
Completes written work in a timely manner relevant to evaluation, therapy and patient coordination and the content of written material meets ASHA specifics
