Job summary

Southcoast Health System is seeking a Speech Pathologist for a per diem day shift at VNA Rehab in Fairhaven, MA. Travel nearby is required, with roughly three or more trips weekly.

Master's in Speech Language Pathology and CCC-ASHA are required, along with MA/RI licensure and BLS/CPR. Two years of experience and EMR proficiency are preferred; vaccination requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat speech language, cognitive communication, voice, swallowing, fluency disorders.
• Provide rehabilitation services per patient needs and department guidelines.
• Document progress and ensure quality of care.
• Collaborate with Clinical Manager and rehabilitation team.

Hours:Per Diem

Shift:Day shift; 8:00am - 4:30pm

Location: VNA Rehab - Fairhaven, MA

Travel: Driving on average 3 or more times per week required

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Under general supervision of the Clinical Manager or designee, perform duties to support and in support of the Rehabilitation Department. Assess, diagnose, treat and help to restore speech language, cognitive communication, voice, swallowing, fluency and other related disorders within the patient's capabilities.

• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology is required.
• Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-ASHA) from the American Speech/Language & Hearing Association is required.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with various software, database and electronic records programs is required.
• Two (2) years of related experience in the field of Speech Therapy is required.
• Home care experience preferred
• A Speech Therapist licensed by the Board of Registration in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and may be required in Rhode Island, subject to geographic area assignment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) & CPR certification are required.
• MA and RI licensure will be needed
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
• Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
