Job summary

Camino Real Community Mhmr Ctr is seeking an Assistant Therapist to work with infants and toddlers (birth to 36 months) in the Early Childhood Intervention program. Services are delivered according to IFSPs, with supervision and mandatory documentation.

The role requires extensive travel within the service area and potential use of a personal vehicle, with business travel reimbursed. Applicants must hold a Texas SLP-A license and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain current SLP-A license by the State of Texas to practice.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• English/Spanish skills; ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide speech-language pathology services to infants and toddlers birth to 36 months under ECI.
• Deliver services per individualized Family Services Plans (IFSPs).
• Travel extensively throughout the service area; personal vehicle may be required and travel reimbursed.
• Work under supervision with latitude for initiative and independent judgment; report to Administrative Supervisor.
• Submit accurate and timely documentation.

General Description Of Duties And Responsibilities

This Assistant Therapist will work specifically with infants and toddlers, birth to 36 months, who qualify for services in the Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) Program. Work involves delivery of services as specified on individualized Family Services Plans (IFSPs). This position also requires compliance with supervision requirements. Submits accurate and timely documentation. Extensive travel throughout the service area is also required. Use of personal vehicle may be required. Travel for business will be reimbursed. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment Reports to Administrative Supervisor. Team Lead.

Minimum Job Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be eligible for the position:

• Must have and maintain current SLP-A license by the State of Texas to practice.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Preferred Job Qualifications

• Prior work experience as a licensed Speech Language Pathologist-A.
• Experience evaluating and treating infants and toddlers with feeding difficulties.
• Prior work experience includes normal child development and intervention techniques for treating developmentally delayed infants and toddlers.
• Additional certifications related to treating infants and toddlers.
• Prior ECI experience.
• English/Spanish skills; demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Knowledge of rehabilitation therapy principles, techniques, and treatment.
• Skill in the use of rehabilitation equipment, materials, and tools.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and administer rehabilitation therapy programs.
• Ability to conduct evaluations and assessments.
• Skills in interviewing; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to supervise the work of others.
• Must have ability to work under conditions requiring physical stamina and ability to work in a stressful environment.
