Job summary

Nassau BOCES Department of Special Education is seeking a Speech Teacher Leave Replacement to support students with special needs. You will deliver individual and group speech services per IEPs and conduct re-evaluations.

Ideal candidates hold NYSED Certification in Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Speech-Language Disabilities, NYS SLP license and ASHA CCC preferred; experience with autism and behavioral disorders is valued; strong written and verbal communication is essential.

Qualifications

• NYSED Certification in Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Speech-Language Disabilities.
• NYS SLP license and ASHA CCC preferred.
• Experience with children/adolescents with Autism and/or emotional/behavioral disorders is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct speech and language evaluations for special education students.
• Deliver individual and group speech services per student IEP mandates.
• Maintain accurate records, session notes, and Medicaid-related documents.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and component school districts.
