Job summary

Supplemental Health Care seeks a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support a Saint Louis, MO school district. This full-time role works under the direction of a licensed SLP to implement treatment plans and document student progress.

The SLPA will assist with screenings, prepare materials, and collaborate with educators to support student communication needs, within state guidelines and district policies.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or related field per state rules.
  • Current state licensure or registration as an SLPA, if required by state.
  • Eligibility to work under supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.

Responsibilities

  • Implement speech and language therapy activities under the supervising SL.
  • Provide individual and small-group intervention sessions as assigned.
  • Reinforce communication skills across educational settings under supervision.
  • Assist students with AAC devices and other communication supports.
  • Support articulation, language, fluency, voice, and pragmatic goals as directed.
  • Monitor student participation and progress during therapy sessions.
  • Collect and maintain accurate data on student performance.
  • Document attendance, activities, and progress per district procedures.
  • Share treatment data and observations with the supervising SL.
  • Assist with screenings and clerical tasks related to evaluations.

Supplemental Health Care has partnered with a school district in Saint Louis, MO to staff a full time, Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).


The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) supports the delivery of speech and language services to students under the direction and supervision of a licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). The SLPA implements treatment plans, documents student performance, assists with screenings and materials preparation, and collaborates with educational staff to support student communication needs. The SLPA works within the scope of practice established by state regulations, district policies, and professional standards

Key Responsibilitie
  • s:Implement speech and language therapy activities developed by the supervising SL
  • P.Provide individual and small-group intervention sessions as assigne
  • d.Reinforce communication skills across educational settings under the supervision of the SL
  • P.Assist students in using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and other communication support
  • s.Support students with articulation, language, fluency, voice, and pragmatic language goals as directed by the SL
  • P.Monitor student participation and progress during therapy session
  • s.Collect and maintain accurate data on student performance during therapy session
  • s.Document attendance, therapy activities, and progress according to district procedure
  • s.Share treatment data and observations with the supervising SL
  • P.Assist the supervising SLP with speech-language screenings, without interpreting result
  • s.Perform clerical and administrative tasks related to evaluations as assigne
  • d.Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and other educational staff to support student communication goal
