Speech-Language Pathologist - Voice Clinical Fellow

Job Summary

Under supervision, provides diagnostic, counseling, and treatment services to patients with speech, voice, swallowing, language, cognitive, and/or hearing impairments as per department policies. Collaborates with supervisors to ensure quality service delivery and patient well-being.

Does this position require Patient Care? Yes

Essential Functions
  • Screen, diagnose, treat, and counsel patients with communication and/or swallowing impairments.
  • Perform re-evaluations and follow-ups for diagnostic or treatment purposes.
  • Conduct educational presentations and case presentations for SLP staff.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding Speech-Language Pathology services and patient care.
Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.

Experience: Clinical Fellowship begins upon master's completion with 350 clinical hours during the program.

Licenses and Credentials: Massachusetts license eligibility; internal preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of speech and hearing anatomy and physiology.
  • Patient and family counseling techniques.
  • Familiarity with current treatment approaches.
  • Effective documentation skills.
  • Dependability, perseverance, flexibility, and effective communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
  • Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling.
  • Constant feeling, vision, talking, and hearing.
