Job summary

You will evaluate patients, establish plans, coordinate with families and team, document results, supervise students, and pursue continuing education while adhering to standards and OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Certificate of Clinical Competency.
• Current state licensure or license eligible.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (with AED).

Responsibilities

• Provides Speech Therapy services to patients and initiates referrals when appropriate.
• Conduct screenings of patients to determine need for intervention/treatment.
• Evaluates patients to obtain data for treatment planning and implementation.
• Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to patients, family, and team members.
• Establishes individual patient schedules with other team members.
• Develops treatment plans with goals and methods to achieve them.
• Coordinates treatment plans with patient, family, and team.
• Monitors patient progress and modifies treatment as indicated by physician orders.
• Recommends and obtains equipment to improve communication; instructs on use of augmentative devices.
• Participates in discharge planning.
• Develops home/community programming to maintain progress.
• Documents results of assessments, treatment, and follow-up.
• Supervises students/volunteers per state regulations.
• Pursues ongoing continuing education and professional development.
• Records indirect and billable treatment times and submits statistics to regional office.
• Provides treatment per standards of practice and department procedures.
• Complies with Infection Control, OSHA standards, and confidentiality.
• Supports QA and Performance Improvement (QAPI) processes.

Education

Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Certificate of Clinical Competency

Current state licensure or license eligible

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (with AED)
