Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) seeks a dedicated Speech & Language Pathologist to support K1-12 students in overcoming language disabilities. The role involves collaborative work with educators and development of tailored interventions to foster linguistic skills. Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) is a tuition-free open enrollment charter school for grades K1-12 in Dorchester that is a public alternative to traditional district schools. We serve over 800 students across two campuses predominantly from the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan. We believe in the social emotional well-being of our students and know that a well-coached and supported educator is instrumental in helping our scholars both academically and in their SEL growth. We do not give up on kids. Our expectation is that all of our students thrive at NHCS, graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education on the path to life success. What is the Speech and Language Pathologist role?
The Speech and Language Specialist will work with elementary, middle, and high school students with expressive and receptive language disabilities, misarticulations, phonological processes, stuttering and hearing loss as well as students diagnosed with Autism. You care deeply about the language skills of our scholars and enjoy assessing needs and creating plans for our scholar's linguistic success. Working collaboratively with teachers from across different grades levels to design and implement student supports comes naturally to you. You are organized and have a strong written and oral communication skill set.
This is a cross-campus opportunity, Monday - Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The salary for this position is based on education and experience. Someone coming to us with two years of experience and a master’s degree can expect to make an annualized salary of $67,500.
