Job description

We are looking for a Bi-lingual (Spanish) Speech-Language Pathologist to work for one of our external clients, a community services non-profit organization serving people with developmental disabilities at their community center, located in Bronx, NY.

This is a permanent, full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8am-3pm, with no holidays or weekends.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Providing speech and language assessment and therapy to students.
  2. Analyzing test results and preparing written summaries for regulatory bodies such as Early Intervention, CPSE, CSE, etc.
  3. Planning and conducting speech and language interventions based on established goals.
  4. Monitoring student progress through testing procedures and reporting results.
  5. Assessing oral motor development and developing appropriate treatment plans.
  6. Utilizing AAC devices effectively.
  7. Maintaining attendance and progress records.
  8. Communicating regularly with parents/guardians and team members regarding therapy progress.
  9. Participating in initial evaluations and intake processes.
  10. Performing other related duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
  • One year of prior Speech Therapy experience preferred.

License / Certification:

  • Current NY State license in Speech and Language Pathology.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency.
  • NYSED Certification as a Teacher of Speech and Hearing (TSHH).
  • For Bilingual Therapists: NYSED TSH Certification with Bilingual Extension.
  • Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates will be supervised.
