Position Overview

Westminster Healthcare Center, a proud member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for a PRN position. Our therapists are in-house team members of the CommuniCare family. This role primarily involves patient evaluation and direct patient care.

Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate, screen, and treat patients/residents requiring Speech Therapy services.
  2. Perform evaluations under physician orders and develop care plans based on patient needs.
  3. Design and conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to address communication, swallowing, and cognitive issues.
  4. Administer, score, and interpret specialized speech assessments.
  5. Educate residents, families, and caregivers on speech monitoring and practicing new skills.
  6. Advise on diet modifications for safe swallowing techniques.
  7. Complete necessary documentation adhering to policies and regulations.
  8. Maintain accurate patient records and billing information.
  9. Participate in continuing education and professional development.
  10. Ensure confidentiality of all medical and facility information.
  11. Attend interdisciplinary meetings and family consultations as needed.
  12. Follow facility policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  2. Current state license.
  3. Excellent communication skills.
  4. Competency in therapy techniques, evaluation, and equipment use.
  5. Knowledge of accreditation standards.
