Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' speech or language difficulties and determine the need for therapy services.
• Assess communication problems using standardized tests or basic reading and vocalizing tasks.
• Teach patients to improve sounds and voices.
• Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language.
• Instruct health team members, patients, and caregivers in therapeutic exercises.
• Guide patients and caregivers in self-exercise programs.
• Document progress and patient responses to therapy, submit documentation per agency policy.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
• Current license as a Speech Language Pathologist
• At least one year of direct patient care experience, preferably in-home care
• Current CPR certification
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance
