Job summary

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield, operated with Lifepoint Health, seeks a Speech-Language Therapist (SLP) for PRN Day shifts. You will assess patients, develop care plans, and collaborate with families in a fast-paced rehab setting.

Applicants must hold a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, be licensed in MO, and have BLS within 60 days of hire; willingness to supervise students is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
• Licensed Speech Therapist; current licensure with MO Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Accepting new grads.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
• Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
• Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.
• Other duties as assigned

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield is 60-bed Rehabilitation Hospital. Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation services for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries and other conditions. Our Unit is a very fast-paced yet fun environment with endless opportunities to learn and grow!
