Job summary

River Terrace Retirement Community in Bluffton, IN, and Warsaw Meadows in Warsaw, IN, are seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide therapy across both campuses. The role is based at River Terrace with occasional coverage at Warsaw Meadows.

You will evaluate residents, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing, while promoting dignity and independence.

Qualifications

  • Current Indiana Speech-Language Pathologist license in good standing.
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • CCC-SLP preferred; candidates must meet Indiana licensure requirements.
  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or geriatric care preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, individualized, patient-centered care.
  • Ability to travel between the Bluffton and Warsaw facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and resident goals.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve communication, cognitive function, and safe swallowing.
  • Assess and treat residents experiencing speech, language, voice, fluency, and cognitive-communication disorders.
  • Conduct swallowing evaluations and recommend interventions to support oral intake.
  • Monitor resident progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with nursing, PT, OT, dietary staff, and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on communication strategies and therapeutic techniques.
  • Complete evaluations, progress notes, treatment documentation, and discharge summaries accurately.
  • Ensure therapy services comply with state and federal regulations and professional standards.
  • Promote resident safety, dignity, and independence throughout rehabilitation.

Position Type: Part-Time | 20-25 Hours a Week

Position Overview

River Terrace Retirement Community in Bluffton, IN, and Warsaw Meadows in Warsaw, IN, are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech therapy services across both facilities.

This position will be based out of River Terrace Retirement Community in Bluffton, IN, with additional coverage at Warsaw Meadows in Warsaw, IN. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping residents improve communication, cognitive function, and swallowing abilities while supporting their overall quality of life and independence.

Schedule
  • Part-Time opportunity

  • Primary location: River Terrace Retirement Community in Bluffton, IN

  • Additional coverage at Warsaw Meadows in Warsaw, IN

  • Schedule and hours to be coordinated between both facilities

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate residents' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing needs.

  • Collaborate with nursing staff, physical therapists, occupational therapists, dietary staff, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.

  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, swallowing precautions, and therapeutic techniques.

  • Complete evaluations, progress notes, treatment documentation, and discharge summaries accurately and timely.

  • Ensure all therapy services comply with applicable state and federal regulations and professional practice standards.

  • Promote resident safety, dignity, and independence throughout the rehabilitation process.

Qualifications
  • Current Indiana Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in good standing.

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; candidates must meet applicable Indiana licensure requirements.

  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or geriatric care preferred.

  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team.
