Responsibilities

1. Communicate with patients to evaluate their speech or language difficulties and determine the need for therapy.
2. Assess communication problems using standardized tests and basic reading/vocalizing tasks.
3. Teach patients to make sounds and improve their voices.
4. Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, when applicable.
5. Instruct health team members, patients, and caregivers in therapeutic exercises.
6. Guide patients and caregivers in self-exercise programs.
7. Document patient progress and response to therapy, submitting reports per agency policy.

Qualifications

1. Master’s degree as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP
2. Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP
3. At least one year of direct patient care experience, preferably in-home care
4. Current CPR certification
5. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance
