Responsibilities

Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) evaluate and provide skilled speech-language therapy to individuals in a home setting, under the care of an attending physician. The home setting may include single or multi-family homes, assisted living, independent living, or memory care facilities.

The SLP assesses and treats patients with various conditions, including language impairments, motor speech disorders, dysphagia, cognitive communication difficulties, voice disorders, and those requiring alternative or augmentative communication. Often, patients have experienced strokes or have progressive diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and dementia.

Qualifications

1. Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
2. Must have automobile liability insurance.
3. Must wear seat belts at all times while driving.
4. Dependable transportation in good condition.
5. Ability to drive in all weather conditions.
6. Currently licensed as an SLP in the state of employment.
