Job description

General Summary of Position

MedStar Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist OP/IP Float to join our team at MHPT in White Plains.

The Speech-Language Pathologist provides speech-language pathology services, including but not limited to screening, evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation across a minimum of three (3) inpatient (IP) or outpatient (OP) locations. The role involves participating in program planning, protocol development, and assisting the team in achieving established goals.

Primary Duties:
  1. Conduct thorough evaluations by reviewing patient history, performing assessments, developing personalized treatment plans, and communicating findings and goals to patients and families.
  2. Implement evidence-based treatment protocols, adjusting plans based on patient progress and interdisciplinary consultations.
  3. Document the full continuum of care from evaluation to discharge, ensuring timely updates, proper billing, and tracking of patient outcomes.
  4. Demonstrate professional time management, maintain accurate schedules, and ensure patient-centered care through flexibility, empathy, and punctuality.
  5. Engage in continuous professional development, mentor students and new staff, and contribute to departmental goals, quality improvement, and community outreach efforts.
Qualifications:
  1. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program (Required) or Doctoral Degree (Preferred).
  2. Completion of clinical fellowship year (CFY).
  3. SP-L - Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia, as required for specific locations.
  4. ASHA Certification (Preferred).
  5. CPR certification (including BLS and NRP) from AHA or Red Cross within the last 90 days (Required).
Additional Information:

This position has a hiring range of $80,038 - $130,041.
